The Life of an OT student.

"The Road goes ever on and on Down from the door where it began. Now far ahead the Road has gone, And I must follow, if I can, Pursuing it with eager feet, Until it joins some larger way Where many paths and errands meet. And whither then? I cannot say" — J.R.R. Tolkien

Last Hurrah before School Starts again.

My best friend is coming home from North Carolina tonight and we are going to watch the new movie "The Help." We both read the book, which is one of the greatest I've ever read, and we're excited to see the movie tonight! Tomorrow we leave for Pittsburgh, PA! I've never been there before so I'm pretty excited. This is just for a weekend. School starts back up August 22, so this is my last hurrah before school starts back up. I love traveling, so this is the perfect way to end my summer break!

I'm new to this...

This is my first blog ever! Yay me! I have seen several OT's blogs on the web, and this has inspired me to start my own. I'm sure I won't have very many readers, however I think this will be good for me to write out my thoughts and learning experiences as I journey through OT school.
A little about me: I am currently in my 2nd year of grad school...Master's of Occupational Therapy. The 1st year was overwhelming, but I have learned a lot. This year I am hoping that everything starts falling together and making sense (this is what we keep hearing anyway). My class (Graduating class of 2012) has 23 people, consisting of 18 girls and a record-holding 5 guys! I love my MOT girls, and of course we all love our "wall of testosterone" (nickname of our 5 guys). We have 2 semesters left of classes, and we start Level II Fieldwork in the summer. We have 2 rotations, each 12 weeks. I am hoping to go to NC for 1, and to TN for the other!
I am hoping to write a blog entry at least once a week. We'll see how this turns out once school starts taking over my life. I am looking forward to having a peds class this semester! I have already received many of my books for this semester from online. I have to admit that looking at these books actually makes me excited to read them. This was definitely not the case during the past year of OT school, because we were just learning the basics. Second year of MOT school, I'M READY!! Let's get this over with so I can move on to clinicals! =)
